DRAGONS’ DEN SUCCESS FOR IRELAND’S NEW STYLE GURU

A young entrepreneur from Laois is set to be Ireland’s new Gok Wan after securing Dragons’ Den funding for her inspirational style business which helps women look better and feel better.

Style coach, Julie Cobbe’s business, Style Fish, already has over 400 graduates of its intensive training programme with many thousands using her stylish user-friendly website – www.stylefish.ie

A former solicitor, Julie’s business acumen and passion for her business won her joint funding from her dream team Dragons – magazine publisher Norah Casey and media expert Gavin Duffy.

Appearing on RTE’s Dragons’ Den on March 13th Julie faced the Dragons along with one of her Style Fish graduates (a staff member from Weight Watchers) and convinced Casey and Duffy to invest €30,000 jointly for 40% of her company.

“Julie has the passion and drive to push this brand forward and I feel I can add real value to her business through our women’s magazine portfolio and events”, commended Norah Casey.

“I can see Julie commanding the screens in the not too distant future advising the nation on their style sense”, said Gavin Duffy.

So what was it like entering the den for this young entrepreneur?

Julie says “It is that absolute belief and confidence in the difference Style Fish has made in women’s lives that helps you get past the fear of walking up those stairs!”

At just 28 years of age and in the midst of the worst recession ever to hit Ireland Julie Cobbe has succeeded in not only surviving but securing a solid foundation for her brand going forward with two Dragons on board.
